The Super Fit Aubrie Richeson Talks With Simplyshredded.com

How did you get started with bodybuilding?

I was actually quite big in school, I used to sit on the couch all the time and wouldn’t even like to move to go make myself more cinnamon toast! In middle school I decided to make a change and began running outside on the back roads of town. Following a couple years of home workouts and longer distance runs I started throwing around some iron to gain the much needed curves- I saw results within a matter of months and have loved it ever since.

So what is your training routine like?

I do a 5 day split that I change up every month, it looks a little like this:

  • Monday: Shoulders, tris, abs
  • Tuesday: Back, biceps
  • Wednesday: Chest, abs
  • Thursday: Extra Cardio, Calves
  • Friday: Second day of shoulders or an extra day off
  • Saturday: Legs
  • Sunday: Off

When trying to cut down do you prefer to use HIIT or just normal cardio?

I really mix it up when it comes to cardio- I’ll be honest, it is not my favorite thing and getting me to do more than twenty minutes really takes some determination. I’ll do longer bouts or sprint my rear off to finish in less time. I do see better results when I do HIITS, that’s not just because I’m dripping with sweat either. The burn is a good one, I have to remember to tell myself that lol.

What is your Diet like?

I keep my carbs pretty low year round and cut out starchy carbs completely by 3pm each day. When it comes to leaning down I will do carb cycle days going from 175 grams to 50 grams.

What is your supplementation like?

Right now I only take in a protien supplement, BCAA’s, Glutamine and a fat burner for when my diet is more strict and I desperately need the energy. I don’t believe in taking in too many different supplements at one time, it’s expensive and clean eating can most often get you just as far.

Plans for the future?

Right now I’m planning my move to San Diego, which will go through by June of this year. No competitions until after the move but I’m planning on making my mark in bikini
